In questo articolo voglio parlare dei vantaggi e degli svantaggi delle Lezioni di Canto Online rispetto alle lezioni dal vivo.
Se mi avessero detto 15 anni fa che le persone avrebbero imparato a cantare online, sedendosi davanti a uno schermo, non avrei riso. ‘Perché non è divertente. Sarei inorridita.
“Devi trovare un insegnante, andare in una scuola o recarti presso un insegnante privato, per diventare un cantante competente”.
Questa è sempre stata la prassi.
Ma oggi, e ormai da tempo, ha preso piede ancor prima dell’emergenza Covid-19, una tipologia di apprendimento basata sui Video Tutorial, Corsi Online, Corsi in modalità Fad per, praticamente, tutti i settori: dal Corso per Agenti Immobiliari al Corso di Pittura, dalla Laurea in Psicologia ai Corsi di musica. E il Canto?
Bene, sul web c’è un intero oceano di Corsi di Canto Online.
La domanda è: Possiamo fidarci di questa forma di apprendimento quando si tratta di cantare?
Oggi posso dire di essere sorpresa positivamente dell’esperienza di insegnamento online nonostante sia sempre stata tra quelli che sono convinti dell’importanza della presenza fisica per l’insegnamento del canto.
Infatti, ho da poco cominciato a seguire alcuni allievi del Corso di Canto Jazz e del Corso di canto Soul, allievi desiderosi di continuare a studiare nonostante l’impossibilità di recarsi presso la Scuola. Ed è così che ho potuto constatare che l’insegnamento a distanza funziona!
La maggior parte degli errori che ho dovuto “correggere” erano udibili e visibili anche attraverso Skype e Zoom. Ho constatato infatti che è possibile rilevare le difficoltà nella voce anche a distanza, ad esempio mancanza di appoggio e sostegno, cattivo passaggio di registro, un belting mal eseguito e così via.
I limiti delle Lezioni di Canto Online
Manca il contatto. Sebbene gli allievi siano in grado di riconoscere anche online come posizionare correttamente un suono attraverso l’esempio e le spiegazioni tecniche, manca la parte in cui si lavora sulla consapevolezza del corpo dello studente, guidandolo a correggere una cattiva postura, respirare correttamente, allentare la tensione del collo ecc. Ma valutiamo per un momento ciò di cui ho bisogno come insegnante, e se c’è un modo per farlo “senza mani”.
Come compensare i limiti
Quando uno studente emette un suono, guardo e ascolto. Per prima cosa mi assicuro che il comportamento visibile del corpo sia sano. Ascolto anche il corretto funzionamento delle corde vocali e lavoro su questo, se necessario. Chiedo allo studente di girarsi e mostrarmi la sua postura laterale e frontale. Quando la voce dello studente mi suona forzata, se guardandolo non vedo alcuna tensione muscolare manifestarsi (questo è meno comune), devo trovare la fonte della tensione in un altro modo.
La tensione potrebbe provenire da qualsiasi area del corpo: la parte posteriore del collo, la gola, la mascella, la lingua, le spalle, il petto o qualsiasi combinazione di questi. Ovviamente propongo degli esercizi per rilasciare ogni singola parte, quindi vado per esclusione e noto quale esercizio crea una variazione nel suono. A quel punto è possibile conoscere l’origine del problema e risolverlo.
E’ un processo più lungo, ma è anche più approfondito. Il fatto è che il successo della lezione dipende sia dall’insegnante che dallo studente, proprio come nelle lezioni dal vivo. Dipende da quanto è sviluppata la consapevolezza di uno studente sul proprio corpo e da quanto sia utile il consiglio dell’insegnante. Per alcuni ci vorrà più tempo rispetto ad altri, ma questo vale anche per le lezioni offline.
In definitiva, per rassicurare gli allievi, mi sembra che una lezione online sia abbastanza vicina a quelle della vita reale con tutte le difficoltà annesse.
Unico requisito davvero fondamentale è quello di avere una buona connessione Wi-Fi per evitare sfarfallamenti della qualità audio/video.
